She has extensive experience in helping individuals overcome challenges related to stress, grief and loss, career dissatisfaction, and personal growth using somatic psychotherapy, breath-work, DBT, CBT and other holistic therapies.
Mary believes in taking a holistic approach to therapy. She understands that each person's experiences and challenges are unique, and she tailors her treatment plans to meet the specific needs of her clients. Drawing from evidence-based practices, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), internal family systems, and somatic therapy, she helps her clients develop coping strategies, gain insight into their thoughts and emotions, and make positive changes in their lives.
Mary uses somatic psychotherapy, which recognizes the mind-body connection and the impact of bodily experiences on psychological well-being. She understands that trauma and emotional distress can be stored in the body and believes in the importance of addressing both psychological and physical aspects of healing. In somatic therapy various techniques are used, such as breath work, to help clients access and process emotions, sensations, and memories stored in the body, promoting self-awareness, regulation, and integration.
Breathwork therapy is a holistic therapeutic approach that utilizes conscious and controlled breathing techniques to promote emotional healing, personal growth, and overall well-being. It combines elements of psychology, spirituality, and physiology to facilitate a deep connection between the mind, body, and breath.
The breathwork session is an opportunity for individuals to access and process deep-rooted emotions, trauma, and limiting beliefs that may be stored in the body. It can help individuals release stagnant energy, gain insights into their patterns and behaviors, and create space for transformation and personal growth.
